Career opportunity
Build a Pan-African Zero Downtime infrastructure company. Work directly with the Founder & CEO.
Winko builds zero-downtime critical infrastructure for hospitals across Africa. We combine reliable power and battery storage with medical oxygen, cold chain, connectivity, and remote monitoring so essential health services can keep operating when the grid cannot.
Winko is executing across seven African countries, works with partners including Direct Relief and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, is part of Launch Lab X at the Harvard Innovation Labs, and was the first African company to receive investment from the Berkeley SkyDeck Fund.
The CEO Fellow works directly with Winko's Founder & CEO at the intersection of strategy and execution. This is not an observational fellowship. You will be given real problems to solve, relationships to move forward, and projects to own.
One week you may be preparing an application for a major infrastructure financing program. The next you may be researching a new country, preparing materials for an investor meeting, following up with a development finance institution, or helping turn a conversation with a government or foundation into an actionable partnership.
Access comes with ownership and execution.
Identify relevant grants, challenge funds, foundations, development finance institutions, and other non-dilutive or catalytic capital opportunities, then drive applications from research through submission.
Support fundraising, project finance, and structured-finance work, including research, financial materials, investor preparation, and follow-up.
Turn meetings and introductions into action. Maintain follow-ups with investors, governments, foundations, customers, and strategic partners, and make sure promising relationships do not disappear into an inbox.
Take ownership of high-priority projects that do not fit neatly inside one function.
Help evaluate new countries, customers, financing mechanisms, and partnership opportunities.
Build concise briefs, presentations, memos, and analyses that allow the CEO and leadership team to make decisions quickly.
Help build the processes, dashboards, and internal tools Winko needs as we scale across multiple countries.
You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of experience in consulting, finance, startups, international development, engineering, policy, or another demanding environment. We care considerably more about what you can do than what your previous title was.
Most importantly, we want someone who gets things done.
This is not a traditional corporate rotational program, and it is not a role where you will spend a year shadowing the CEO. Winko operates in difficult environments where priorities change quickly. Some assignments will be highly strategic. Others will simply be things that need to get done. You should enjoy both.
You will work directly with Winko's Founder & CEO and have a front-row seat to building a Pan-African Zero Downtime infrastructure company across multiple markets. For someone who ultimately wants to build companies, invest, lead an organization, or work on large-scale problems in emerging markets, the learning curve should be steep.
Exposure: company building, infrastructure finance, venture capital, development finance, government partnerships, healthcare, energy, emerging markets, and international expansion.
If you are exceptional, the fellowship is intended to create a pathway toward significant operating responsibility at Winko.
This is a compensated, full-time position. Compensation will be discussed with shortlisted candidates based on experience and location. If the role requires approved work travel, Winko will cover or reimburse reasonable business travel expenses in accordance with company policy.
Submit your resume, a short cover letter and your LinkedIn profile. Tell us why the role interests you and share one example of something you have built, led, analyzed, or made happen that you are particularly proud of.
Keep the note short. We value clarity and evidence of initiative over a long cover letter.
